Family fun in picturesque Erie – a complete guide

*This post is created in partnership with Treads 4 Thought. All opinions are my own.

If you are in Erie, Pennsylvania, make sure to visit the most beautiful place here – Presque Isle State Park. It’s a long peninsula with beautiful sandy beaches where you can wave to people on Canadian side of the Lake Erie (you won’t see the northern coast of the lake though but we can just pretend, right?). There are the Presque Isle Bay where locals go boating, lots of ponds, hiking trails, playgrounds and more.

If you are looking for the fun things to do, here’s my list:

  • First of all, of course, swimming! Lake Erie’s beaches are popular in summer with lots of families enjoying the sun. Beach 7 is one of the most popular – it has a great Waterworks playground that our kids love, two ponds and a pier with a beautiful view to Erie downtown. You can rent pedal boats and bikes here to explore the area!
  • During summer, you can go to Misery Bat and do boat tours from Perry Monument or rent a kayak, canoe or paddle boats and go for an adventure on your own!
  • Hiking and biking! There are so many trails to explore so bring your bike here and have a nice ride along the bay!
  • Watching the sunset. Locals adore Lake Erie sunsets! They are always beautiful and never the same. You can notice a lot of older people, couples and photographers coming to the beaches with their beach chairs and then just peacefully sitting and enjoying the view, saying good bye to another beautiful day.

Here are just some of the most recent sunsets from my camera! Aren’t they absolutely beautiful??

Our family loves doing all of the above! When it’s nice and warm my husband and I are usually planning to meet at the beach where Igor comes straight from work. I cook dinner to take it with us, get the kids and comfy clothes for Igor.

We do yoga at the beach or go for a walk, we have our dinner and chat, play in the sand with kids, sometimes we’d swim if it’s nice and warm. We watch the sun diving into the lake.

Here’s our family of four right before the sunset! We all are wearing active wear from Threads 4 Thought – the sustainable active and leisure wear that’s perfect for anything from hiking to biking, kayaking, doing yoga or just playing with kiddos!

I absolutely love Milinda’s and Nicole’s matching sets – these pants and these hoodies are the softest things I’ve seen! It’s like touching a cloud – and the girls wouldn’t take them off!

I am wearing the set of leggings, bra and jacket. Nice and soft, just like any Threads 4 Thought clothes, and so perfect for yoga or working out.

Igor is wearing a hoodie but I think I might steal it – it’s so soft and cozy and this colour would look good on me, too 🙂

Threads 4 Thought is an amazing brand and I’ll tell you why!
