How to create the ultimate snack board to WOW your guests

This post is sponsored by Goldfish®, Pretzel Crisps®, Cape Cod®, and Pop Secret®. All opinions are my own.

Are you excited about football season? We totally are! Our family loves staying home for a game night and watching the games on TV. You all know I love creating beautiful recipes and honestly for me this night is aaaall about food!

This amazing snack board is filled with all your favorite snacks like popcorn, potato chips, Goldfish, and pretzels. And also a football cheese ball, cheese/spinach bites (sharing the recipe below!), and lots of veggies! Read on for the tips for creating your own snack board your family and guests will enjoy!

  1. Choose the theme.

Is that a traditional cheese board with cheese, crackers, grapes, honey and extras? Or maybe it’s a Mexican taco board with taco shells, beans, cheese, guacamole and salsas? Or a sweet board of cookies, bite-sized cakes and marshmallows? Or are you going to throw a party for the game night with chips and snacks, like I’m doing?

2. Plan in advance.

You chose your theme – now it’s time to get the groceries you need! Think of things that go well with each other and create the list of products you need and don’t already have in the house. I always go with the snacks that:

  • Complement each other
  • Look beautiful together on the board
  • Loved by everyone! (that’s the most important 🙂

For this snack board, I went to Walmart to get Goldfish® Cheddar crackers, Cape Cod® Reduced Fat chips, Pop Secret® Movie Theater Butter popcorn and Pretzel Crisps®. These products are also available for online pickup or delivery

3. Tons of options!

Have a good variety of products for everyone to choose from. Different snacks – I’m using the chips, pretzels, popcorn, and Goldfish – these are great classic snacks everyone loves! Cheese is a must, in my opinion – I looove cheese! Add veggies and dips for them. Strawberries, grapes, and blueberries are loved by everyone. Nuts and hummus are great protein snacks. I also add herbs like lettuce.

4. Bite sizes.

Make sure everything you serve is cut in pieces so it’s easy for people to grab and enjoy. I use baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, tiny colorful peppers, celery.

5. Aesthetics.

You want it to look nice, right? I try to use all the colours so the board has something green, yellow, orange, red – the more colours the better! Also think of a pattern you are going to “paint” on your board with your snacks. I have a round snack board and a round piece of cheese so I made it look like a sun with the cheese in the middle.

6. Keep refills handy.

I always keep an eye on the snack boards and add the products that become the hit of the party and disappear quickly. You’ll need to have some extra snacks and veggies prepared for easy and fast refills.
And of course… Have fun!! 🙂
